Idle soot problem

My truck is puffing out alot of thick big flakes of soot randomly at idle and also puts some puffs out if at any other constant RPM randomly. What could be causing this? Im about to go on a long trip and need to know if it is serious or not.

it just build up in the exhaust system....it's normal they all do it :thumbsup

Alright I sure hope so. It just seemed wierd how it was doing it.

just ask anyone with a white truck and stacks the mess it makes :lol3:

Normal. On a modded truck with heavy fueling and stacks, they look like glowing embers at night.
