Hey

My Uncle said he would give me his 91 CTD for 10k

I found a 03 3500 with everything I want for 13k

It needs a bumper and a clutch

Which should I take and which is better

They are both 4x4 but the 03 is manual and update and leather (I want a stick more than an auto)

Thanks for your help

the 91 would be easier to work on, but the '03 would be a nicer rig. and for 3k, you are getting a lot newer vehicle. what is mileage on both of them?

the older ones if in good condition hold there value great, it just depends on what you want. I noticed your in canada so i dont know what you use for roads, if somethin that harms paint, i would check that out.

I would also want the 03. I had a 93 and they are great trucks but only so much you can do with them upgrade wise and 10K for 91 seems a bit high.

i think i would go with the 03' if it's in fair condition. 10k seems a little high. i am guessing that the older truck is flawless.

is it the blue CTD in your avatar cause thats a clean bad looking truck and i would pick it. everyone can get a nicer new truck, but not a 1st gen that looks that good

The 91 is the one in my sig

It has 171 000km (106 254m)

The 03 is Manual and has all the bells and whistles which would be nice but having a stick is what I really want

It has 257 000km (159 700m)

The 91 is flawless and the 03 needs a clutch. The front and rear bumper have a little rust

Most of our roads are paved, some are chip sealed and the rest is dirt or gravel and I use the dirt roads alot

Most CTD are step in price up here which sucks

There both good I just would really like a stick

If I got the 91 how hard would it be to get a stick in and could I just buy a new manual tranny or would I have to find a 91 with a stick??

I would not pay $10k for a truck that old. Sorry but that's how I feel about it.

Buy the 03 for sure.

$10,000 is too high for that first gen.

$13,000 seems to be too low for that third gen.

I'd jump all over the third gen, provided that you had the money. I wouldn't buy the first gen for that. It's $3000 overpriced, and that's assuming it's 4x4 and totally rust free.

I wouldn't buy either of them. I've seen a lot better deals around. My friend just bought an 05 QuadCab Cummins , Manual with 76k for 14k. Granted it was in Texas, but I've driven it. Really nice truck. I would look around if it were me.

Go with the '03, you said yourself like 5 times that you want the stick!!! A clutch is not hard to do if you have a little bit of know how. I did the clutch on mine with the help of my room mate in one day, and we did it in the parking lot of our appt complex :)

14k for an 05 is a steal and a half.

I would definitely go with the 03, price is much more reasonable, but that 91 is beautiful

if you want a stick go with the '03, the 91 is over priced even if it is perfect condition. like has been stated clutches are easy. 13k for an 03 is pretty cheap, are you sure it's just a clutch and bumpers that are needed?
