I need aisin input

Fellow members in being told the aisin is a great tranny if planning in leaving the truck stock but they are not built to handle high horse power number? I'm not planning on high HP numbers but I would like to do normal mods down the road and don't wanna keep waiting on the aisin if that's gonna prevent me from getting higher HP. I can always beef up a 68 RFe if it ever came to that.

Aisin is a heavier tranny than the 68. I think with any sane mods, it will be fine. Go to 1200 hp for drag racing, and bets are off! LOL
Mpierce I def ain't gonna get that crazy I am just racking my brain here, about to get a new truck and I am coming from a 2010 ford platinum diesel but I want a long bed now. So I was just gonna get a 2500 cummins crew cab long bed with a few gadgets then I heard about the aisin and I'm a kinda guy that always goes all out. In my application though might be biting off more then I can chew cause the aisin only comes in 3500 and I don't tow everyday I don't really tow anything that a 3500 is even needed but they are bad . I just hate that the one tons ride pretty rough compared to a 2500.
I went 3500 DRW and the ride is not all that bad-whsk

Typing while driving is stupid, with or without correct spelling:buttkick:

Don't drive and text.....safety comes WELL before texting, spelling or anything in that category. We don't want to hear about someone texting while posting about purchasing or owning a truck, be iti a Cummings, or a Cummins equipped Ram truck.
I was joking all can calm down Jesus
Absolutely!!

You should spend more money to buy the truck you say you don't need, with the transmission you say you don't want, in case you might be able to mod it someday to get more horsepower and torque that you'll never use.......

Makes perfect sense :banghead:

lol.

Some people just love knowing they have the cool tech though and have too much money :)

I tow a toy hauler a few times a year up to Moab and I'll probably be near the limits of the 2500. If every parking space in the world grew 30% in size I would have bought the Mega Cab Dually 3500 :)
Sorry, thought you needed Asian input.

From what I understand the Aisin is built to handle more power stock, eg the higher stock output on the 3500 Aisin equipped trucks. The higher output on the 2013 2500 than previous years, caused RAM to do all of this insane torque management and converter lock up business that makes these trucks shift much different than previous years' transmissions.

I've also heard the new 68rfe cannot be made to handle anymore power reliably than it currently supports in stock form. A local shop that is very reputable has tried to build several with internals from sun coast and others with little success. Dave Goerend doesn't offer a built 68rfe, so to me that says something.

I'd go with the Aisin if your looking to bump up power output. The other option would be to swap in a ford tranny later. That would be cool....

Lol I was just messing with ya, I really didn't mean for this thread to go off topic

Unless theres some serious differences in the new ones revmax and ats have 68rfe's out that are good up to like 850 hp or something. Leave the building to the professionals
You can have a 68 built, it wont be as cheap as a 47/48 but thats what you pay for 2 more gears. Ive heard the 68 can be built for 1000hp now by suncoast or ATS dont remember.

Huge thing I have heard with the 68 is you HAVE to reflash the computer with a tune for the transmission or you will get no more reliability or holding power than stock because the PCM? controls line pressure. I believe it is the H&S overdrive tune or something similar. Not sure how to flash that on a 13+, but you bought a new toy so just sit, drink a cup of coffee, enjoy your warranty you can void it soon enough when new tuners are out.
If you don't plan on heavy towing then get yourself a '14 2500 with the 68RFE. It'll ride better and the 68RFE will do you just fine. I got the Aisin, but I tow a 15k fifth wheel across the country and keep my truck loaded down.
