funny you mentioned that, my 07 5.9 seems to do the same thing, I noticed it when it got down into the teens or single digit temps (ohio), around the same time I also downloaded a BD TD PP and played for 10 mins (on friends suggestion), then unloaded it, trannys "hung up" in the 3-4 gear shift since, Cold weather? or Downloader? or am I just looking for a reason to think somethings wrong?

How long was the truck setting? I usually let the truck idle in neutral for a good min or two before I take off and I don't get on it until it's up to normal op temps. The fluid will settle down to the bottom when not in use and is cold as well, which will cause hang ups and miss gear events from my experience.

What rpm is "forever"? Are you in OD when it does this? Have you tried TH for comparison?

Also how many miles on the truck?

It sounds to me like the pressure solenoid or the sensor is going out of the transmission. You could always upgrade to the GM Governor solenoid from Borg Werner and replace the sensor. The shift into overdrive is controlled by these sensors and solenoid.

When it shifts from 3-4 it hangs at around 1800-2100 rpm for about 3-4 blocks. What is a TH comparison? 84500 miles on truck with about 3000 on rebuilt tranny. Do u think the Borg Warner upgrade will fix this problem.

I'm no specialist or anything but my brother had this same problem and it was the sensor in the transmission.

about 3000 on rebuilt tranny
Who rebuilt the tranny? I had Chapman Dodge rebuild mine here in Vegas and it still does the same thing. I have also had the solenoid replaced 5 different time under warranty......still does it, but it seems better in tow haul mode.

The extended warranty sent out a brand new rebuilt. I forgot who they got it from. But chapman did all the install work. After it was installed the gov pressure solenoid went out (surging in low rpm when cold) and something else I forgot tho.
