I'm not sure what to think my shop keeps telling me it's the transfer case it te front differential. I just need some advice. At idle and sometimes pulling up hill the front end will shake pretty violently. I'm not sure weather to take there word or what. I guess my real question is in 2wd should the front diff even be a factor and same for the transfer case. Just really need some help before I pour more mo ey I to my truck that I'm just getting yanked around in

Yes it will. The axle, front driveshaft, and the chain in the t-case are live all the time and turning. The difference between 2x4 and 4x4 is where the drive is coming from, 2x4 it is coming from the wheels, in 4x4 that is reversed.

If you have bad axle joints, bad joints in the front DS, or bad bearings in the t-case it will cause issues and explode the same as if it was in 4x4.
