Try a complete EGR/EGR cooler delete from K2dieselperformance.com, not running hot soot-filled exhaust gases thru your motor will really help cool your EGT's.

Also, ditch the cat in the downpipe if you havent already done so

On the boost question, your stock turbo won't create enough boost to hurt you, so no worries there. However, the drive pressure on the turbo (engine back pressure :confused013: ) on trucks with hot tunes is the supposed culprit for a lot of headgasket failures at the moment...
