Replacing the nitrogen cylinder. That's a first. Let us know how it works out.

It's not a nitrogen cylinder. It's an accumulator. It's stores pressure.

Just like the big vacuum canisters on old cars and trucks

As a general rule, I don't go around taking apart things that are likely to contain powerful springs or high pressure gas willy-nilly. Frankly, hazards aside, it wouldn't be worth my time given what a reman hydroboost costs.

However, I can say in my time here this is the first instance of anyone attempting this. Post pictures. I am somewhat curious about what's inside.

well there's various things just in automotive that would fall into that catagory
Replacing the whole unit apart from the cost and assuming you had the new part at hand would take a lot longer than the 5 mins it took to remove the bad cylinder. Other people do this when needed and so do the places who take the cores. I just wondered if anybody here knew. ... which it appears they don't 😂

"The places that make them can do it" doesn't mean crap to the home-gamer. The places that build air brake chambers have the tooling to compress and contain emergency/parking springs safely, but enough people got killed taking chambers apart incorrectly in the field that they aren't even sold with band clamps anymore.

Instead of criticizing the membership here for not knowing everything, you might enlighten us so future readers can (safely) replace these things if it is actually possible.

I asked for advice from people who know
And you had no knowledge just assumptions and quoting apples to oranges yet felt the need to comment offering no help at all. Having spoken to people who DO know this gets done all the time. Had I wanted or needed to replace the entire hydro system and all the time cost and effort that entails Your right I would just go buy a new one however this is a retro fit and it just needs a new cylinder . As requested
Here's a pic for your entertainment. Enjoy

Sorry, in your case a picture isn't worth a 1000 words. In fact it is worth zero. So if you can't give us some kind of narrative to go with the pictures I invite you take your attitude to another forum.
