hey guys i was just wondering i have an hx40 turbo on the truck i just got this truck a few weeks ago . my question is it doesnt have a waste gate any reason why im new to the cummins i had a duramax truck i wrecked in a snow storm before this one i didnt want to have a truck payment. so i took my insurance money and got this truck so im not use to all the turbos and what not . should my truck have a wastegate or they optional or not needed with this turbo . just wondered was all thanks for any info

Well, do you have gauges or do you know how much boost you are running? Not all Hx40 turbos came with a wastegate and they are cheaper to buy as well. I say if you can monitor your boost, you should be fine.

well the gauge hits 25-27 psi and its a glow shift so i have no idea how accurate it is .

Usually boost gauges are pretty accurate do to being mechanical. If that all you are hitting, are are well within limits of the Hx40.
