my buddy has an opp. to trade his hx 40 for an hx 52. same 4inch down pipe


need pros

need cons


any other comment.


we alerady have fuel etc i just need comments on the turbos. thx!

yup. idk a thing really about 12v's and he just got his a little ago. why u say seriously? i deal with twins onmy 24v and not hx's.. Ur advice is needed:)!

how about throwing up some SPECIFICS and DETAILS!!!

Mentioning a SERIES of turbo is not going to help, that turbo could have numerous different wheels and housings.

Next we need to know what has been done to the engine and what you guys intend to be doing with it (daily driver? track truck? pulling?)


At least narrow it down to a ballpark for us ;)

hx 52 off a volvo semi serial number #H041133721

the kid didnt have any specs on it. Daily driver. if he gets it he will get 150s and 4k springs

Not to hijack the thread but i have a cummins vt50 turbo. What would i need to light it?

Not shure. But tje comp wheel is 5" wide and the the inlet id is 4 1/2"

That's the OD of the housing ports. The turbine and compressor wheels are much smaller. The T50 series turbo only looks to be big. It will have a larger exhaust housing though than a HX40-50. It could be used for the second turbo for a small set of twins.

Tossed it. The damn thing was good for 105lbs of boost. I needed rebuilt too
