2007 5.9 CTD -- I've read many posts about the benefits/problems with removing the cat converter on the Cummins. But I'm getting ready to burn Jet A fuel in a 50/50 ratio with reg deisel and have determined that the high sulfer content of the jet fuel will probably ruin the cat. So I'm replacing it with the MBRP pipe. Problem is I've removed the 2 clamps but cat doesn't seem to come free from the front pipe. I want to save it in case Texas gets as dumb as California so I don't want to torch/sawsall it off. I've tried the big hammer routine to no avail. Any suggestions?????

Put some heat to it and work it out . It took me some time and persuasion to get mine off , but it did eventually come off , without damaging it . I to have kept mine , just in case . If i recall correctly I took the turbo down pipe loose to help me out with getting some leverage to get it off . Good luck , Brian .
