might want to double check that, but I'm pretty sure that is just for the seatbelt chime, not the honk in reverse with the door open and seatbelt unbuckled. :thumbsup:

Many of you 3rd Gen Owners are tired of that "Saftey" feature we know as that "Annoying Dingger" Well Here is the Cut and Dry method on how to get rid of that chime.
Here's the procedure...
1. With all doors closed and the ignition switch in any position except ON or START, buckle the driver's seat belt.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and wait for the seat belt warning light to turn off.
3. Within 60 seconds of starting the vehicle, unbuckle and then re-buckle the driver's seat belt at least three times within 10 seconds, ending with the seat belt buckled.
4. Turn off the engine. A single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully completed the programming.

Isnt that straight from the owners manual?
I stole it, and I don't own a 3rd gen to try it on. Just trying to pass it on to a buddy from here in LOUISIANA.

The reverse alarm was/is a recall that Dodge put out. If your truck has had the reflash done to enable this alarm, you can also have the truck reflashed to disable the alarm.
I'm still getting notices about this recall because I didn't ever get the reflash done.

Sounds good, I have never really looked into how to stop it, since my truck doesn't do it.
if you turn my key forward with the door open the train horns also get ya!
Let me know if anyone finds a fix for this.
yep, I've also seen people use a staple and bend it around the pins and shove the connector back together. This will basically turn off the seatbelt light. :thumbsup:
