Hi all, I recently bought a 2011 6.7 3500.

From what i can tell this truck has been deleted. I see a blue plate to the right side on top of the motor, and someone that has deleted their truck has said they think its been deleted.

There's a screen and cord in the glove box that has no type of logo on it but I assumed it had something to do with this?

Could anyone tell me what to look for in order to tell if its been deleted? Will I need to figure this out before I change from the stock turbo?

Thanks for anything.

If you have a 'Blue" plate on the intake horn, you are deleted. That is where the factory EGR pipe would connect. You would also have a large EGR cooler on the left had side of the engine along with some cables for a valve, now you should only have two plates on the exhaust manifold where that would have been. As for the cables, and going back to stock, im not sure, why are you thinking about going back to stock?

Great thanks for the reply. Ive also noticed some disconnected wires running along the passengers frame rail if thats a tell?

Also, sorry for the confusion. I dont plan on going back to stock, I have to replace my turbo and looking into going non vgt for the time being.

I'm currently looking at turbos and I'm coming across the idea of having to re-tune.

I don't know what the screen and wiring is in the glove box, is that something that's typically used after deleting?

Also would you know if I can just buy something to tune the truck myself after a new turbo?

Thanks a ton for the help.

Post a picture of the “screen and cables” if you can. More than likely it’s a tuner or gauges and it’s a good thing that they’re with the truck, most dealers pull them out and guys wind up trying to figure out who’s tunes their running.

Look at your exhaust to see if it has the dpf. If its straight piped or not. If straight piped its deleted. Plates block off egr and the screen is the tuner to support the deletes

You would be better off flashing the stock tune back to the truck and then tuning with a newer provider that can do a custom tune for your size non-vgt turbo. Then sell the mini for a couple hundred.

FWIW, I put on a BD IH kit last summer and it ran great but mpg went down. I just tracked down the tuner and got updated tunes and so far so good. Craig

If it were my truck I would plug the wiring harness into the OBD II port and the other end into the control and see what comes up on the screen. That looks exactly like the Mini Maxx tuner on my truck.

Until this thread, I had never realized that the Mini Maxx looks identical to a Bully Dog GT, minus the logo on the GT.

I have EFI Live and instantly said that’s the Bullydog GT and not the tuner, thankfully OP doesn’t have to look for an autocal now lol.

Thanks for all the replies, I'm going to attempt to get this thing together and plug it in to see what happens.

Still mind blocked by the tuning situation, in my experience with seeing things being tuned. I'm use to seeing someone with a computer tuning a vehicle while its being driven.

Is this different? Are there programs you download online to the card specifically for each turbo and truck?

Or buy a whole new screen and set up?

Thanks a ton for getting back to me on this, I'm a little lost with tuning things back to stock, or tuning things to match a new turbo and whether I need to take it to a shop that tunes or doing it by myself.

Definitely try replacing the hdmi ord to see if itll turn on. 3brorce, a member here offers custom tuning for the 10-12 trucks using MCC. He'll email you the tune files. All you have to do is load them to the sd card and install the tune to the truck. I just had him tune my truck and it was a huge difference. And I haven't been able to really test out the wot due to my stock clutch slipping bad. And it's been snowing the last couple of days here.

Oh man, thanks for the explaination that is a huge help. Aside from all of that could you tell me what MCC is?

Again thanks for answering questions, I seem to be in the pre-school stages with all of this.

We all have to start somewhere. Lol. I've only had my truck for alittle over 2 1/2 years and still learning about it every day.

MCC is Maxx Calibration Control. It requires an unlocked code to download custom tune files to your truck. The code is about 200 depending on where you get it from. A company that still does mcc tuning can write custom tunes for your specific truck and mods. Some can even do the 12V sound which reduces or eliminates the post injection which makes it sound like the older 12v trucks. Since h&s went out of business and new tuners and coming to market theres not many companies that still offer MCC tuning. It you keep the mini maxx hit up @3brorce for the tunes. Hands down a way better tune than the box h&s tunes.
