I've never had to do anything special to burp the cooling system after replacement. Having the truck slightly front high is good but other than that just have the heater on full blast and once the coolant stops lowering top it off and put on the cap.

I don't think Gates makes the Cummins water pumps because the Gates impellars are plastic and the Cummins impellers are metal. It seems like they are more prone to weep a bit but I would run them instead of Cummins just because of the price.

I was referring to the 6.7 water pumps. I just use them because they have deeper impellers.

I'm pretty sure the torque specs on them are 18 ft-lbs but like said goot'n'tight method with 3/8" ratchet.
