So i have all the mods in my sig. Im just got my FBD 5'' in the mail today, should be installing it on sunday. Just curious as to what you folks think will be gained as far as hp. I know companies like mbrp claim something like 30hp or so for their 4'' exhausts, only reason i went with a 5'' over a 4'' is i like the sound better, not because i expect more performance gains.

So what do you guys think?

you may be able to feel it a TINY bit down low but it really isnt that noticable

ya im really looking for the power down low for towing, i tow my jeep across the country several times per year. So im really hoping for maybe a tad better mileage, was only getting 12-13 pulling one jeep and trailer
i noticed quite a bit of improvement when i replaced the downpipe. seemed to pull harder on the top end.
nice. Im going from the stock exhaust to the 5'' and, to me anyway, it seems what when i added the injectors and cold air intake that and exhaust is the next step for performance. Im not trying to build a racer, just a pull truck
for pulling your jeep, just get a box after the exhaust and you'll be done. i pull my cherokee up any hill i want at 75mph. the only time i have to slow odwn is if it's hot out; the temp starts to creep up.
you currently runnin stock exhaust(muffler and all)? yeah you'll prolly notice a difference...and it'll sound a LOT better than it does now
ya the only things left for this truck are a air dog or fass and then a box... other than that this truck is done. I like to keep my daily drivers low key... no need for huge power. And i like getting good mpg, thats why i chose a diesel over a big gas motor.

edit: i put the exhaust on yesterday... it is nice and loud... noticed a slight power increase, but i think i would feel more of a difference towing a load.
i get about 16mpg pulling my xj at 75mph.
here is a post I started (not long ago) and it took off! I'm very surprised it has done so well. any way it has guys who have dyno'd their trucks and has them post mods so you can compare yours to theirs, you might get lucky and find one that posts hp gains thats silimar to yours
Hope this helps

the bigger exhuast will lower egts too while your towing which will be a good thing. when i went from my stock pipe with muffler, resanator deletes, to a 4" str8 pipe, WOW! it was a very noticeable difference.

it looks like from your avatar you have a camper shell. if it wasnt for the fact that i plan on getting a gooseneck i would buy one. I dont think i get 16 mpg empty at 75 lol
Well 5" is usually reserved for the very high end, high rpm generating machines. You will see some EGT reductions which will allow you to stay in the throttle longer, but I would have gone with a 4" Exhaust doesn't make power it just enables you to move the exhaust out of the way to reduce EGT's which allows you to apply more fuel. That is where the power comes from..... Always great to ask the questions after you make the purchase...

yes, it definitely helps! I'll get 20 unloaded.

20 combined? Cuz i can see 22 on the highway.
yeah that's averaged with mostly highway. i've seen about 22 only highway.
