I am running my smarty on sw3 tq3, tm4, rp default. Would i gain anything by turning up the RP? if so what is to high, I dont have a RP gauge, do i need one now. I would rather put that money towards a TC and VB.

Mods in sig, tranny is stock

Cranking it up for short bursts is fine. With the smarty i would leave it alone since you cant change it back quick. Its normal driving with raised rail pressure that kills the injectors not the quick bursts. Also if you do decide to raise the pressure, without a guague there is no way of knowing if you pop your relief. That could stick open a little and then you would actualy loose power. Course you could just cap it.

the settings on the smarty have safe points that dont allow it to go past whats its susposed to, if it does, the instrustions warn you, you already running raised rail pressure, if your running default on the smarty, default on the cathcers for rp is 2, it wont be stock unless you set it to stock....

If your going over stock you want to add 2um filtration... 26-27K is the max I would run, for short periods. Anything over 27K and the gauges are accurate anyhow.. so who knows how much your running.

I ran my rp on 3 and that seemed to get me the most milage and power. I ran that for everyday driving for a pretty good while and havent had any problems.

I didn't think you could adjust RP with SMARTY. I thought that was the big hype to stack w/ MP-8..
you can adjust it....but not on the fly like the mp-8. the mp-8 is also better for fine tuning. with the smarty, you have 4 rp settings, whereas the mp-8 you can adjust in very small increment from 0%-100%

mp-8 works good for tuning, especially on the fly, however if you stack it with the smarty, i would turn down the timing, anytime you add more pressure, it will advance the timing... advance it too much and get the spray pattern outside of the bowl, raising internal temps, and your looking at a melted cylinder...

that is correct, but if you have a modified cp3, lift pump and big sticks then I believe you can run a little higher setting when stacking. I am not 100% sure. I am sure southern smoke would know :D, he knows the smartys pretty well haha
