I have a 2000 ram 2500 with an auto. I believe it's 215hp stock. I just had my auto built redline clutches, single disc billet torque converter etc. The guy who built it said it would easily hold 350hp. My question is how much can I add. I have a 4inch exhaust, BHAF, and industrial injection 75hp injectors I just put in. Does an exhaust and intake really add power or just make it possible for more power? I just purchased and edge juice w/attitude cs how much can I turn it up? And does adding more towards max hp it's rated for shorten the life of the transmission? meaning will it last longer with 300 hp than 400hp?

It's 235 hp at the crank in stock form. Its hard to say how much you can add. Thats a pretty vague question ya know what I mean? How much you can add before you start slipping the tranny? How much before you twist axle shafts? How much before you kill the trans? How much before what? I'm going to assume you meant how much you can add without breaking anything. So in that case I wouldn't add much more then what you have. Intake/exhaust/intake horn you'll be fine adding those. They don't do much for power but do help manage EGTs. Once you start adding, the power will go up and the risk of breaking or damaging goes up significantly. Honestly as far as the trans living at a certain hp... that has to do with how you drive it. You could drive a 1000 hp truck on a stock trans if you never got after it. Now I get thats an extreme example, but hopefully you get what I'm saying. Do you have an upgraded fuel supply system? If not, get one immediately.

Ok thanks so I have a FASS DDRP with a new Vp44 that's a year old and I have +75hp injectors. So if it's 235hp stock then since i put injectors does that make it 310hp? so I could put that chip on 40 hp and I would be at 350hp? Or is that not how you add the numbers?

It all depends. If your aready in motion say your runnin 55 and someone wants to race you. Your trans will hold more then its rated. But if your at a stop and slam alot of power at it thats when things get messed up. If it will only hold 350 you waisted money cause a stock trans will do that if you take care of it. If your not sitting still you wont have any problems out of turning your edge up. I ran 75s and my juice for over a year on stock trans and when I got it built the guy told me all that was messed up is I had a drum starting to burn up. So you will b fine either way.

ok so for example towing it would be best to turn my chip off while starting out but once i get rollin then turn it on and it shouldn't cause any problems. And just don't slam the gas down from a stop? Thanks for the advice

Just take it easy on it when towing put it on one or 2 and just get up to speed responsably. You will b find and a boosted launch is when you spool up the turbo before launch. You will get a feel for it.
