I turned the star wheel a couple rotations toward the engine for more smoke and low end response but it got loose after awhile and I was just wondering how much you can turn it toward the engine. Is there a stop or can you harm something? Thanks alot for the input.\

You can turn it until it hits the housing. The aftermarket springs are longer so that the wheel can be adjusted more. As long as you don't get excessive cylinder wash you won't harm anything

Once the spring gets loose you have lost the effectiveness of it. you could have adjusted the pre-boost screw to get that effect, or you could actually tune for performance rather than smoke

I really don't care about blowing any smoke knowing that its just dollar signs going out the exhaust. What I would like is alittle bit more get up and go out of the shoot. I have heard alot about the star wheel and tried that but not much happend and left me a bit disapointed from what everyone has said. If you have any instructions with pictures I would like them alot to adjust this pre boost screw. I am waiting for my dad to buy gauges for his truck or this truck that I am doing this on to put the budget fuel plate in from DDP. Thanks for you help.

Just because it fuels sooner, doesn't mean it will accelerate faster, smoke does not equal power, and many people don't understand this. Usually a "tighter" AFC goes faster and doesn't drown the flame. A light haze is enough.

But Heres the cover I'm talking about

And heres the adjustment screw and jamb nut

I will look for this but I don't think this truck has this adjustment. It looks like there is a line from the intake chamber to the afc housing. I will double check but is this a stock or aftermarket product.

If it has a starwheel it will have one. The line from the head is the boost reference for the AFC, they all have them. Mine also had the T for the wastegate line, which yours might not
