A couple of weeks ago I was having trouble with my truck dieing under acceleration. It turned out to be an air leak in the fuel heater. After I bypassed it the problem went away. Today it started doing it again and I almost did not make it home from work.
Question #1 Do the lift pumps ever develop air leaks?
Question #2 How would you pressurize the fuel tank to check for an air leak?

Just get a rag and compressed air and put air to the tank and hold it there while someone checks for the air leak.

Isn't there an adapter or tool available?

Maybe I have just always used a rag and compressed air, you could look for one on the internet or maybe someone else will reply

Get a fuel cap from junker, install air fitting, pressurize. I would use bicycle pump or low pressure pump. Over pressure would not be fun when you remove the cap.
