Hey how does the overhead unit come out? Did u have to drop the whole headliner to get to it..
You have to very carefully pry the lenses for the lights out, then take the bulbs out before they get too hot to touch. Then there are a couple of screws that hold it in place.

pod

Okay so my OH gauge pod is starting become a PITA. It worked great for 5 month, winter, but now that its hot out nothing seems to handle the heat. The original velco started slipping, so in went different velcro and instead of just 2 sq inches I covered the entire back.. lasted until the first day above 80.. Then I covered the entire back in 5lb double sticky back tap... lasted until 90*...

So what do you guys use? Or do you just deal with it dangling?
Try both together that should get you to 170 degrees. lol
Do a search on here about overhead pod mounting, I remember seeing one awhile back were the guy made something slipped above the headliner and held the pod in place. it was some type of metal "bracket".

I ditched the overhead pod over a year ago and couldn't be happier. The dash pod is easier to read and doesn't move!

I also like Matt400's method from TDR, but you can also, much more easily, use
black or clear silicone caulking around the edge of the pod where it touches the windshield.
When carefully applied and then wiped down, either color is invisible, heat resistant and, of course, super sticky to glass and plastic.

Here is a write up I did a while ago on the overhead pod mounting. Very similar to the one from TDR in post #18.

Thanks for the links guys. I've been having the same problem and I will try the aluminum mount. I've got 5 gauges and the 4 overhead + 1 pillar seems to be the best combo for me.

Finally got around to fixing my overhead gauge pod that I’ve had for a few years. It kept falling on me every summer and I thought I had tried everything until I read somewhere on this forum or another about black RTV. I used the existing velcro but then beaded the RTV around it, not so much that I can never get it off, but enough to make it stick. Applied it at night and wedged it in place with a piece of wood to make sure it dried tight. I have not had any issues since.
