Crack the banjo at the VP44, bump your starter to get the pump running. Wait for fuel to come out. Then crack injector lines 13 and 5 or whichever you can get easy access to. Then crank the engine until you get fuel dripping out and close them one at a time. After that you should be able to crank and start

Correction, fuel spraying out of those fittings, not dripping out. If you are talking about replacing the Lift pump only, ll you had to do was crack the fitting at the VP or fuel filter and bump starter BEFORE trying to start it. Also sometimes all you have to do is bump the starter a couple of times to bleed the VP also. Not sure why but the last time I changed the VP I just bumped it twice and it started right up on a crank or two. Surprised the heck out of me.
