OK, after replacing my fuse box, my horn now honks when i open my door while in gear, or open it too fast after throwing it in park.

what can i do to eliminate this worthless stupid idea of safety?

i plow, hook to trailers and use my truck to where i need my door open at times. and its embarassing to open my door and my truck honks at everyone.

My dad's truck does the same thing. Mainly in reverse with the door open. Iirc it's a safety update the stealership put on after a few years. I have not heard/seen any way to disable it, besides the horn fuse. I am watching this thread in case somebody has disabled it though.

It's part of a flash, the only way to lose it now is to reflash the computer with an older version of the software...
how come it never did it before? i just changed the forward controll module and fuse block.
Prob programmed into the module already.
My 06 does the same thing.. Hate it! Am going to convert from a auto to a manual soon.. Will it still happen?
Mine has this too:doh: and it's a little touchy at times if you're a little too fast going into park, it'll give a blast of the horn at inappropriate times i.e weigh scales, someone just walking by,etc. Got the 'stink eye' from a few who think I'm blasting it at them. Imagine having a set of train horns at the ready:shock:
Mine does this to. Super annoying!
Just a safety feature…..Chrysler had several cases where guys were ran over by the trucks
just to let everyone know. the forward controll module is what makes it honk. i replaced mine with a different one. honking is gone.
I thought I read somewhere that if you have your SEATBELT on, door open and in gear it will not blow the horn. I have relatives with 06's and when I was reading up on those years I remember reading about that. It scared the sh*! out of me the first time this happened to me, I was hooking up a trailer. I wish I could confirm what I said maybe one you can try this and report back. I haven't had a chance to confirm or deny this yet.
I hate it, makes me feel so stupid everytime.

Mine Does The Same Thing Sometimes. I Have Train Horns ON Mine Bit Not ran To The Horn Wire lol
The only half assed fix I know of is to jump the seatbelt indicator wires under the seat.
Just put a stripped wire in there providing continuity then plug it back in. Wedging the wire in there.
Works everytime, 60 percent of the time.
For some reason it doesn't work everytime. Sounds stupid I know.

Mine does this all the time and it always seems to happen in parking lots so everyone starts looking at me like im a idiot lol. i also hate the seatbelt chime, it just wont stop like when im on my ranch and having to constantly get out i dont want to wear a seatbelt same when im on the beach.
I added a switch in the cab to disable the horn alarm (the headlights and flashers still flash though). On the trucks that came from the factory with this feature enabled, I've heard that the seat belt being clicked in (or jumpered) will keep this from happening. On trucks that have the recall programming (like mine) the seat belt option does not work.

Jumping that wire will cure the seatbelt light and chime

once again. if you have the honking problem the forward controll module is where its at. get one from a junkyard thats older and it will eliminate it.

Any videos?:hehe:
The dealer can turn it off but most of the time they will tell you they cant
