Homemade sway bar bushings?

Time to change my sway bar. Again... New bushings don't hold it really cause the metal has worn down.

Could I just make a thicker bushing?

Nobody?

Was thinking about cutting a hardy thick piece of rubber to put
In there and clamp down.
What about drilling out the newer bushings and then taking a peace of pipe, cutting it in half like a hot dog an welding it around the sway bar? Give it some more girth and fresh steal. Then you can reuse bushing just by making them to the size of the pipe.
What size sway bar do you have? I remember seeing SuspensionTechnique in 2 sizes. Try suspension.com. They keep most ST bushings in stock.

There's a good tip, might be a better route.

Didn't know there was different sizes. Mine is stock as far as I know.
There are different size bars, measure and make sure you are getting the correct bushings.

Are you just using OE replacement? Have you tried a poly bushing? Energy or the like?
Not yet.. Probably gonna up the whole thing to energy everything up under the front. Tie rod sway bar track bar bushings...
ST makes a kit for the front end. Haven't looked at the details. Bushings are on my list.
i personally like Moog, lifetime warranty and quite cheap and great quality

I agree, the warranty is great. No questions asked they send you new parts
Yup moog is awesome lol
Ya I've been having good luck with my moog track bar. Might need to up the rest to moog too.
working in the shop we would never use "house brand" products, for the couple dollars more upgrade to moog dont get me wrong, all parts go bad. ha just them seem to be way more realiable than others
Guess I'm bout to just order the whole kit then
if you have a car parts warehouse by you they have the best prices of anywhere.cant even find on ebay for the prices they sell at by me.
Just picked up some moog bushings from oriely for $19
See not that bad
