you see what i got and i hold 18-20 idle and bout 19-15 acc. and the lowest ive seen was 10 at wot(edge on #6, Smarty, 150's...while up a hill)

With just the edge you should be fine.....12+ wot

That is almost impossible with a stock blue pump. Unless you modified it some way. The stock blue unregulated is good for 15lbs and that is unloaded.. it will drop from there...

I've run a blue for years. 15psi at idle and 11 at WOT. Never had an issue. My buddy has been running a holley black for the last 6 years with no issues at all.

Vulcan performance for some flow through fittings and a blue should get you all the pressure/volume you need. Add some 1/2" line too while you're doing it. cheap and pretty reliable too. :hyper:

Ya know, I did a vulcan big line kit, draw straw(1/2 inch one end to the next), with a carter 4601hp on the frame, and all I get is 12psi at idle and 9.5psi all out. Thats not too little pressure considering the volume gain, right?

Is there any need to run a pressure regulator with a Holley Blue, or is this spring that everybody's talking about an internal regulator?

Are they all good for Diesel, or are there some out there only good for gas?

They say to put in a relay for it but i got the vulcan relo kit with 1/2 line and hooked the extension harness right to the holey and have had no iisues at all, i did 1/2 from blue to vp44 and its fine, do a small filter before the tank and it will last a lot longer. The spring is under a slotted cap screw on the base, take it out(dont loose any parts) just cut it a little at a time to get good pressure but it should be fine the way it comes, mine is 14psi at idle and never below 12psi at wot and i never touched the spring. It will be all you need, try to keep it around 15psi and all will be good the vps just need steady pressure to survive, if you need parts let me know i can help you out. DD Upstate Diesel Performance

No regulator, they are at a max of 14psi from the factory!

with a carter 4601hp on the frame
I have a carter p4601hp rated at 18psi on the frame feeding the stock lp. I have a Mechanincal fuel gauge that is PEGGED at 15 idle and under a throttle it sounds like its going to burst on me. It makes no sense but i believe it is possible for it to be building more pressure than dropping pressure under throttle. I cant be certain how much i'm pushing but the gauge IS at 15 and never moves. I'm doing a regulator asap. Truck also surges that may be causd by to much fuel.

my truck surges when going 45-50 in overdrive what causes that after 50-55 it runs fine only does it while at that certain speed and also the cruise control doesnt work very well always hunting with the pedal.

Mine surges under wide open throttle. and that fuel pres gauge is winding up high pitched and squealing. I can see it breaking and soaking my cab in diesel. i can then see me torching it and collecting insurance.

When i get back home i'm just going to disconnect the CArter pusher and run just the stock lp. Hopefully that will drop below 15 or atleast get the truck to stop surging. I get home friday night and have plans to race it on sat night.
