Can someone explain the high idle feature on 11 dodge 3500?
People around town tell me if I leave it idling to always use the high idle!
The owners manual says to use it to warm the truck up faster in cold conditions.
I dunno? I know how to turn it on and have done so but should I do it all the time?

Hit the cruise button when in park with brake on. Then use it like you would increase you speed. You can get it up to 1500 rpms.

If you plan on idling for more than a few minutes, use the high idle feature to keep engine up to temp to prevent any soot build up from prolonged idle, also to prvent washing down the cylinders with fuel.. Otherwise don't idle the truck unless required.

No need to put the parking brake on just use the cruise to activate.

I did not know of this feature until I saw this thread. Tried it this morning, doesn't need parking brake and is pretty awesome.
