hi i have been doing a lot of reading and still not sure what to do. i was having injector problems and high egt's. thought getting new injectors would help fix the problem but they didnt help the egt. truck runs alot better now with the new injectors. what could cause the high temps and whats the fix? the injectors i put in where bms 50hp. egt's will get up there pretty fast to 1450 or so and ill get right out of it. as far as i know its the stock turbo. any help is appreciated

That is normal for a stock fueled engine, they were designed to run that hot. The high EGT's are a result of retarded injection timing and a late injection event for emissions. As long as you don't hold it at 1400-1500 for hours on end you should be fine.

When you start adding fuel and timing then you have to start reducing the max temp and time at it. The BMS injectors won't add any more fuel, just distribute it finer for more power. However, they tend toretard timing even a little more because of the spray pattern so EGT's seem high.

High EGT's do not neccessarily hurt the engine, the dwell time of the high temps in the cylinder does. You can run 1500 degrees all day long and as long as the cylinder temp does not exceed the ability of the piston cooling system it will not melt anything.
