Just got my gauges installed. On a forty mile trip on the highway at 65mph cruise with no load the egt was 1200-1300 degrees! My 5.9 does 800-900. Any ideas why the 6.7 is so hot?

It is possible that you where in a regenerating cycle. These trucks do run hotter then 5.9L engines did. May people falsely believe that the EGR system causes high exhaust temperature when in fact EGR's lower peak cylinder temperatures to lower NOX output of the engine.
