I went to the fancy new carwash in town today and when I asked the guy at the entrance if I should take my antenna off, he said no. About halfway through the carwash the flapper thing decided it would remove the antenna for me. It ripped the antenna out of the fender completely and then hit the back door with it to add insult to injury. Im going to talk to the manager tomorrow but lucky for them they have signs at the entrance of the carwash that say they arent responsible for any damage...Im screwed. I was wondering if anyone has tried the hidden antenna by Autoloc. Ive found it for about $40 which doesnt seem too bad to me and I would never have to worry about this happening again.

I think you should atleast get hit the guy that told you it was ok, in the back of the knees with that antenna now.

That sign at the front doesn't mean squat. Any decent lawyer will tear right through it. Get the manager on the phone, let him know he is financially responsible for the damage and if he doesn't agree, forward all further discussion through your attorney. As for the hidden antenna, i don't have any experience but I have a 12" aftermarket antenna on my truck and haven't had any problems going through car washes. I used to remove my OEM one before going through but haven't bothered since I installed this shorty and haven't had a problem one.

I agree...i got lazy after working everyday of the last 3 weeks out of town. This just reinforces my theory about not letting anyone but myself work on the truck. I guess I need to learn how to do body work now

oh man i would be ticked, esp since you did ask him. anyhow your right i hate other people touching my truck my problem is that im not that great of a mechanic. i can replace parts all day long but cant troubleshoot for nothing. good luck with your repairs.

I have an autoloc antenna, ive actually bought a few of there products, they sent me a full color magazine with tons of stuff that they dont even have online, i get just as good reception on 4 out of 7 of the channels i listen to, better on 2 out of 7, and just a lil staticky on 1 of them. I love it, it really cleans up the fender and gives it a real smooth look
