I just bought my truck and last owner decided to **** me over and just reset the oil life just change the oil after low oil pressure and had this inside and have a bad knock truck is basically unable to drive now curious if I’m going to need a full rebuild or an overhaul! Also have a video just no idea how to add it into this post to show the knock

If I'm spending good money, unless I know the PO like a family member I don't take anything they say as golden.
If everything else checks out, the first thing I do is change all fluids and filters, every last one of them. I know its late for that now, But hopefully it's not as bad as it seems.

If it was mine, I would buy a reman long block! Usually a local shop is more and you have no idea
if the shop doing it is worth dealing with. Labor is high and you are forced to trust them!

Reman long blocks will have a good warranty. No shortcuts and monkey work. A long block will
most likely be cheaper and you could even DIY (y) Price it out before you go down that
road. When you pay someone local to do it, you're on the hook if it turns out bad.

Just for FIY! IDK if they're good or bad. You'll need to find something that works for you!

Yikes, new bearings for sure. Sorry mate.

Skip the analysis, you can see bronze in the pleats.
Yeah, I think you are wasting $ on an analysis. Visual metal is always death. Check your turbo bearings if you swap to a new crate engine.

Yeah, it looks like a full rebuild is in order, getting a new long block wouldn't be a bad idea. Thats a gut wrenching deal after spending good money on a truck to find out the PO deferred all of the maintenance, not just some of it

Yeah, that'll be an expensive one there. Can't trust anyone or anything nowadays.
Wonder what his reaction would have been if you asked to do an oil|filter change (on your $) before exchanging $. Have your filter cutting tool on hand of course. I bet his reaction would have been enough to make you walk.

I just can't imagine buying a vehicle of any kind without doing some poking around.

At a minimum I bring ramps, floor jack creeper, big pry bar (loose steering components), endoscope, non chlorinated brake cleaner ,and my normal tool kit.
