Help!! Truck wont start!

Please help me, I have a new starter in my 1999 Dodge 2500 CTD, I just replaced my Crankshaft Position Sensor and my truck will now not start. I checked the cables for power and my Starter terminal lead cable (the small one) has no power going to it. Any ideas?? Again its a new working starter, and it was starting before I replaced the crankshaft position sensor. I did try taking it all back out and putting in the old sensor back in and still nothing. Thanks for any and all help.

Clarification please. Does engine crank normally and not start or not crank?

Edit: It is something you moved or knocked if all was working before. Lockout switch on clutch or auto trans or broken wire or fuse or???

You can run a wire from starter to battery. Touch + post & it should crank. Make sure truck is in neutral with working parking brake applied.
Did you check the relays?
+1 on the relays. Quite a few of them are enterchangeable, swap the starter 1 for another 1 to see of that cures it.
The truck does not crank at all. And I checked the fuses inside the cab, and they were all good, is that what relays you mean? Sorry if thats a stupid question, this is my first diesel

Oh and how would I check them? I think I know where they are now, Under the hood on the drivers side next to the battery. Any ideas what the number is on the one i need to check?

The bottom of the fuse panel cover tells what fuse/relay handles what.
Many are interchangeable/identical. Just swap the starter relay for a similair 1.
Thanks! I'll try it tonight when I get home. If its not that any ideas? Maybe Starter Switch?
When you pulled the starter and removed the small trigger wire was the nut real tight you might of Spun the stud and broke the wire inside the starter if you run a wire or use a remote starter switch and go from batt to trigger terminal and it does not crank then that's what happened
Thanks, it does have some play in it. As in the whole bolt will move a little bit.
just checked switching the relays around and no luck :(

Edit: There should be no play in starter bolts or connections.

Let's go back to square 1. Is the starter bolted in properly (3 bolts all snug)?

Do you have full battery voltage at the large terminal at the starter? You should. This is where the battery cable attaches.

What do you have?

The small trigger wire on the solenoid: With clutch in or trans in park (parking brake on and working for safety) have someone turn the key to start. You should have full battery voltage. You may have to insert something metal to reach the connector to measure voltage.

If no voltage, while you're there, let's confirm the starter works. Run a wire from the terminal and touch the + terminal on the battery.

If no voltage at the small wire and the starter works with the wire directly to the battery, the problem is: 1. broken wire or 2 lock out switch broken or not functioning because of adjustment or installation or ???

Location of lockout switches and relays are in the 01 FSM which can be downloaded. Just search these forums for a link.

I would like to know what prompted you to change the CPS to begin with? Problems/symptoms a code come up?

If a code popped is it gone? A little more info an there are a lot of smart people on here that can help you!!
All bolted in properly. It ended up being the solinoid in my new starter went out. I had it bench tested at the parts store and when they hooded up to that stud they must have pushed in back in place. So I had to put it back in my truck again and nothing, brought it back to them and they got nothing too, so I got a new starter and a hand full of new relays for next time. Thanks all! You've all been a huge help!
That little stud should not move and is probably broken. That wire only has juice when you are turning the key to start. If you turn the key and get a click you have bad contacts in the solenoid, easy fix.
