2003 Ram 2500 QCSB 6 speed manual has 124,000.

Was driving home this morning and it died on the road, it still runs and starts but if yuo press the gas pedal the RPM's don't change at all...like I don't have a throttle cable. Anyone????

Yes it sounds like you need to replace the TPS. Dealer Item and pretty expensive. I had to replace mine a few weeks ago. Same 2121 code and dead pedal symptom.

From 05 DR Service Manual: (TPS/APPS)

SENSOR-ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) (1) is located inside the vehicle. It is attached to the accelerator pedal assembly (3).

OPERATION
The Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) provides the Engine Control Module (ECM) with two DC voltage signals which change as the position of the accelerator pedal changes. One of the DC voltage signals will be half the voltage of the other signal.

REMOVAL
CAUTION: Do not attempt to separate or remove the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) from the accelerator pedal assembly. The APPS is replaced as an assembly along with the pedal. If sensor is removed from pedal, its electronic calibration may be destroyed.

1. Disconnect 6–way electrical connector at top of APPS (2).
2. Remove APPS lower mounting bolt (4) and two mounting nuts.
3. Remove pedal and APPS assembly from vehicle

Ok then it is either on the air intake manifold or under the drivers side battery box. I will get the pictures out of the 03 manual. I did not pay attention to the post and was looking at the 05 signature.

If you don't have the large black plastic covered assembly on the front of the intake manifold then it should be under the driver side battery box. If you do have the intake mounted unit let me know and I will post those instructions/pictures.

03 DR Service Manual APPS:

Late Diesel Engines
The APPS is serviced (replaced) as one assembly including the sensor, plastic housing and cable. The APPS assembly is located under the left vehicle battery
tray (Fig. 5). Access to APPS is gained from over top of left / front tire.
(1) Disconnect negative battery cable at battery.
(2) Disconnect APPS cable at accelerator pedal. Refer to Accelerator Pedal Removal / Installation.
(3) Remove wheel house liner at left / front wheel. Refer to Body.
(4) Gain access to APPS electrical connector by opening swing-down door (Fig. 6). Disconnect electrical connector.
(5) Remove 3 mounting bolts (Fig. 6).
(6) Remove APPS assembly from battery tray.
