Do you have the bolt on the vp44 or on the bottom of the filter? Start working your way back to the fuel pump and loosening all the fittings to see where the fuel stops. Check your filter housing too to see if you're getting fuel into it. Your pump might have given out. Do you have the stock one?

Well you're gonna have to keep moving your way back, undo the one on the pump and see if it'll put fuel out there, then you'll have to check your lines all the way back to the tank and lastly you might have to pull the sending unit out of the tank and see if it's blocked. You might need a new fuel system like the raptor or air dog.

Well if you're gonna buy one, I'd do it right and go with either Raptor or Air Dog, the AD is the more expensive one but it's the full system filters and all. The Raptor is just the pump but it works pretty good and it's closer to your price range. I wouldn't waste any time with another stock pump or anything like that cause you'll just end up paying what you could have the first time on replacements. Let us know if you need anything else.

Pretty simple install and you probably won't need the 150 unless you're plannin on big power. The 100 is even easier than the 150.

But before I order the raptor I need to be sure the problem is the lp. Does it sound like it for sure?

Well you're not getting any fuel out of it but you can hear it pumping? I would either assume the plastic rotor inside the pump has come out, look at this link by mopar1973man here the plastic part isn't supposed to come out. It would mean the pump is turning but it's not turning the rotor to push fuel.

If that isn't the case there's an obstruction in the line and it's not getting any fuel from the tank, which, in time, will burn up the pump and you won't hear it run any more. If you've been running with no/low fuel pressure it's taken it's toll on your Injection pump.

So here's my advice:

1. get the raptor, install it asap.
2. Start saving for a new IP as you'll likely get the death code soon.

Not trying to scare you but I speak from experience. I bought an air dog soon after I bought my truck. A month and a half later my IP died. Get the lift pump and get it going long enough to save some money.

Ok thanks for explaining that. pics are good.

I have had no symptoms with the vp and no codes. (knock on wood)

I dont know how long its been screwed up but everything seemed normal.

I'll take one more glance/listen to it tomorrow and I'll order the raptor. :drool2:
Any more test suggestions? I doubt theres a blockage in the line as it was running great 10 min before...and theres fuel in the lines from the tank.

There's no fuel in the lines from the tank? Did you pop off the connection to the top of the sending unit? If you can down the truck till you get the raptor maybe consider dropping the tank or pulling the bed and check the canister inside the tank to see if it's getting fuel into it, maybe something's blocking it up. But even if it is I would highly recommend a new pump to replace the crap stock one.
