Hey Y'all,

Here is a list of what I want, no more, but possible less.

New truck requirements.
- 2014 Ram 2500
- SLT plus decor.

- integrated brake controller.
- locking rear diff.
- heated trailer tow mirrors.
- short box.
- 4 wheel drive.
- crew or Mega cab.
- Cummins/68RE
- plow package.
- heated cloth seats.
- half decent stereo.
- back up bumper cam?
- 120v inverter and outlet.
- remote start.

I have never had a rear bumper cam, will it get used, or will the shine wear off? Is it in the centre dash display, or the rear view?

I want fog lights for sure, as I always use them.

Are the buckets more comfy than the bench? Does the bench have a console?

Do you guys mind posting a pic of your rams? Red for me, but possibly dark blue.

You should be able to find the truck you are looking for no problem. I would go down to the dealer Monday, find a good deal and skip the wait for an ordered one. Blue is really nice, Red.... not so much...:S:
No 2014's on the lot yet, not even sure they have pticing yet.

Will keep y'all posted.

Since you're in Ontario....it might not hurt to look into getting the cold weather package.

The back up cam is great! I hook up to trailers daily, wish I would have had one years ago. My truck has the 8.4 radio and it's built in to it. Trucks with the smaller radio I think it's in the rear view mirror.

My bucket seats are great, haven't had a bench since my 08 3rd gen.

I agree on wanting fog lights, I love mine and leave them on all the time. With auto headlights the fogs come on with the headlights.

I would get if off the lot, should be easy to find one like your wanting.

I just picked up a 2013 long horn mega. Not sure if the other trim levels have the high back rear seats but the head rests are to damn high. You can't see out the back window. I would be lost without the back up camera.

It isn't a necessity, but I do like the power sliding rear window, and cab lights.

The rear seats in my Laramie are also tall, but I can see everything I need to see, out the window. In all honesty though, I don't look out the rear window that often. I use the side mirrors.

Save your money on the cold weather package, all you get is a $15 cord for a block heater that is already there, and the cold weather front. In 17 years, I've only used the front a couple of times here in eastern Kansas, and not sure it did much of anything. Get the truck, go to to Cummins or Fleetguard, or Ebay and get the cord for $15, and put it on yourself. The option from Ram is $90. Or better yet, go to Genosgarage.com, and order a cord for $45 that has a mounting bracket and cover similar to your rear receptical. You won't have a cord dangling under the bumper getting all corroded up. If you find a truck, tell the dealer you ain't paying the $90 bucks for a $15 cord, and they will probably pay for it themselves to sell you the truck.

As has been said, the backup cam is perfect for hooking to a trailer. I can back-up perfectly being able to see the trailer hitch. For actually backing-up for me, it's just peace of mind that a child or something isn't directly behind me when I start. I can't replace the mirrors with the camera when backing. I have the 8.4AN and that is where you see the backup camera view. Here's a pic of it working:

The 110 volt outlet is pretty cool and in the above pic you can just see it in the bottom right.

I have the Alpine stereo and really like it. I think for all but stereo nuts it is enough.

Remote start is cool but I really don't use mine. My truck is defogging the windows within one minute of driving in my addition at slow speeds. I just get in the truck, start it, buckle-up and put her in drive. I don't see the need to burn fuel warming the truck. I just take it easy for the first mile or so.

Regarding the seats, I would strongly recommend you sit in both to see what you like. I'm a pretty big guy and the buckets are pretty tight on the sides (bolster areas?). It pretty much limits me to sitting upright like I'm supposed to. The bench seat in my '06 was not nearly as tight and I could find several positions to sit while driving. Keep in mind I spend quite a bit of time in this seat. I don't even notice it in 30 minute or less commutes.

I'll have to take a pic of my buddy's '14 in Maximum Steel. Every time I walk by it (which is a lot), I like it more. It's beautiful. Funny--he likes my silver one and I like his Maximum Steel. Here's a pic of mine until I get a pic of his (sorry for the quality of pic):

A few of the must haves when I ordered sig truck was: luxury group, spray in bed liner, fog lights, clearance lights, bucket seats & side steps. These trucks are great, get the options that are important to you. Every body has different wants & needs. Best wishes. When sig truck was ordered on June 15th, 2012, it was delivered to us 8-17-2012. Seemed like a long wait at the time, but looking back, the wait was well worth it to have truck I wanted, instead of a truck the dealer might think I want.
