Hey guys! so I just acquired a 12 valve for free. I've been planning on building one for some time now to drop into a rat rod or older pickup. I beleive this is a 1987 block, not sure what it came out of but I want to be sure it is a good block to use? the rods are "Japan" rods, tongue and groove style. the crank has "Scotland" cast into it. con rods have the oil hole on the top of the piston pin bore to cool the bottom of the pistons. the only casting number I could find on the block is 32187. the I.d. tag on the timing gear housing is gone. are these rods, crank and block good to use? strong? I'm looking at building it to hold 1000hp. not saying that's what it will put out.. bores have slight scuffing, so I will have it fully machined. .020 over marine bowl pistons, arp mains, everything. thank you guys for any help and insight!!
