I am having troubles getting the upper bracket for the firestone 2299 airbags to install on my 2012 3500 Mega Cab. In the pic you can see the bracket the supports the brake lines (?) is in the way. I double checked I bought the correct Firestone airbag system (2299)... Thoughts or am I completely stupid and missing something obvious..?

Been awhile since I installed them but I thought you take the bolts out for bump stops and replace it with that bracket. Then the bottom bracket is U bolted to axle. Bag goes in between. Hard to tell from that pic but it looks like your trying to install bracket wrong. Did you remove your bump stops? Cause that should be where bracket goes. Holes should be in bracket that lines up with threaded holes where your bump stops were originally. Bump stops no longer used on your truck

I had the exact same problem, the drivers side is hard. What I did, unclip the two wires hanging separate from that metal holder, they should be attached to the frame. Then the sensor closest to the frame the round one, un snap it and then remove the rubber piece that it sets in. install the bracket to the frame with the allen bolts your gonna have to leave them loose to get both bolts in start with the front one first (toward the front of truck) once you get it started then do the rear one. It is a real tight fit an a real pita.. once your installed zip tie the wires out of the way.

I just looked at instructions for your kit, I believe mine came with these instructions aswell. It is not installed on outside of leaf spring like pictured. It's mounted on bump stops on inside of leaf springs. You should be accessing this near your spare tire right at axle, not at wheel well. I'll take a look at mine in few hrs when I get home.

Thank you, i know it is hard to tell from the pic but it is inside of the leaf spring (near the spare)..

I wonder if cutting the right side of the brack by an inch would work at last resort..

what I did was cut the little ear back and grind it smooth and round. Then it fit perfect. It wouldn't fit any other way. Hope thats helps.
