I've been over and over different threads about dropping oil pan with motor still in but I had few questions. Can someone tell me if the mount bolts need to come completely out or just loosened, cause I've got the nice and loose and fan shroud nuts off and that engine will not separate. Also will the head already off what are you guys hooking your hoist to to lift it. I'm not seeing anything I'm to comfortable hooking to for that much weight.

You'll need to remove the mount bolts so the engine can come out of it's place. You should also loosen the trans/transfer case cross member mount bolts. You can get a set of lifting eyes or links. The links are a better because they can take side loads while the eyes have to have a straight 90 pull or they can fail. I do believe NAPA sells the links. You can use a new bolt through a head bolt hole.
