Help!! Cp3 plug gone

1428 Views 13 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Brumley Farms
Ok so on my way home for thanksgiving I started watching my fuel gauge steadily drop. Thought it was a loose fuel return line. So I tightened it up. Finally got home and realized that plug between the fca and the gear pump is gone and it's gushing fuel out right there. What size plug is that? What can I do for a temporary fix until I can get back to my house and order something new. I'm on a tight deadline here and have to be back to school by Monday. Someone please tell me anything and everything you can. Thank you!!!!

It's a metric thread. They are m12 by 1.5mm I'm thinking, I can't remember the size off the top of my head,
Any idea on where I could pick one up?
How in the heck could that have even came out? It just doesn't make sense
Idk, I've never had it happen. I don't know where u can get one before Monday, I have 1 or 2 but Colorado is a long way away from ky
Just looked. The is no threads for a plug. It's an actual freeze plug or core plug
Give Todd @ t and c diesel a call, I'm sure he has what u need and can tell u what caused it
Where is t and c diesel located?
Its like a pressure plug I believe, which means you had to much pressure for the rail I believe. When mine went I was told cp3 was toast. Not sure since it was under warranty and was replaced.
It's in Minnesota, I'm thinking your cp3 is toast but Todd can say for sure, as far as having to much pressure in your rail, the rprv should have popped off before anything happened to the cp3. If anything it would be an internal problem in the cp3.
Here is his number, let him know what ya got and im sure he can steer ya in the right direction, hes a good guy to deal with  763-228-7121

If the plug has been blown out due to high pressure the cp3 pump is not going to work properly. I have yet to see one blow the plug out and last any miles afterwards.
