Hello everyone, I am new to this forum, just a small time farmer, and veterinarian in the vidalia area just east of pineville La. drive a 08 dodge w 6.7 L6 in it. recently got interested in some upgrades. Love the truck, just want a little better sound and maybe unleash a few of the MOPAR horses. Glad to see so many people from LA in here hope I can contribute to the thread a little

:welcome: Glad to have you buddy. Vidalia like South of Ferriday?? I come through there alot when headed south. I work out of Winnsboro and run up and down hwy 15 alot.

Welcome! Put ya a 4 or 5" Turbo back exhaust system, AFE or any other brand Cold air intake system and a Smarty for the tuner and it will do all you want..

hey doc im from up around those parts, all my family live in monterey. and actually my aunt and uncle just opened that meat market in vidalia by the walmart. small world.

The little specialty meat market with the light colored brick? I been meaning to stop there!

I put a 5" turbo back with a free flow muffler and I think it sounds alot better than stock.

The meat market is called Cajun Specialty meats....It is awesome. They have some killer Cracklin. It is across the street from my Vet hospital. I am looking at AEM dry flow intake and magna flow 5" DPF back exhaust. I only have 22000 miles on the truck. Killin the DPF voids warranty right? Haven't ordered anything yet but still lookin.

Yeah it voids the warranty but if you ever have major trouble, you can pretty easily switch back to the stock exhaust and clear any codes in the ecm so that there wouldn't be any sign of it. I'd recommend getting the H&S XRT tuner also. You can safely add 60 or 120 HP to an otherwise stock truck. It also allows you to unplug the EGR and delete the DPF without getting any codes.

And yeah, welcome to the forum. The 6.7L Performance Parts section will have more information on what you are planning on doing and probably some product reviews of each part you are thinking of buying if you do some digging. Do you know Mike Vinson from St. Joseph? I used to buy some cattle from him years ago and he's a cotton farmer.

Thanks all for the warm welcome. It is good to be a part of this. Lsucowboy, I do know Mike from St. Jo... I have done some work for him before, I think he raised deep purple manes for a while, I appreciate the heads up on the upgrade ideas, I will do some diggin and keep your suggestions in mind. Ya have to understand, I am a newbie at upgrading and just a little over cautious due to lack of experience. If it was a John deere tractor of a Steiger I would have no problem gutten' er a puttin er back together.

Yeah, I bought two steers from him and I think they were both Maines crossed with something else. I understand being hesitant- I was too but after reading on here you get a good idea of what are good upgrades. And, you're right, these trucks are a different breed than a big Deere or IH. If you've got any questions don't hesitate to ask.

we have a couple samples at the lsu lab that yall study. back in the early 90's we had a mare that developed a strange sist in her neck that we removed. Who did u do ur intern work with? i know the Buzzharts from Zachary, they do alot of stuff with Lsu. I know the sale barn up in Amite uses alot of interns from LSU too.

For the dpf back, its a waist of time. no sound or performance, just looks. i had it on my 6.7. If u just want the look get u a tip to put on ur tail pipe........ From a guy with a 6.7 with the delete's i would go with the SMARTY, hands down. then order a magnaflow exhaust from BADP.
