hey, I have an 08 3500 6.7L, 200,000km, juiced, deleted. truck sat for 2-3 weeks before I parked it truck ran and performed fine. I went to go fire it up and there was no heat, when I popped the hood the coolant reserve was full and spitting out . I thought maybe the thermostat was stuck so i replaced it, once I changed it I started it and I had heat for 10 min, took for a drive and over heated, stop to let it cool, once i got home coolant reserve was full and spitting again..

could definitely be a head gasket which i'm sure you don't want to hear. I would try replacing the radiator cap. Is there coolant in the radiator? If not i would replace the cap, make sure the radiator is topped off and if it does it again i would say its a HG

Head gasket = done! Now the question becomes to fire ring or not to fire ring, or, take a chance popping it again. Not sure what "juiced" means but if it is an EJA throw it as far as you can and get a GOOD delete tune and MAYBE your issues are over.

Just had the same thing happen to my truck. Changed the cap same thing. Time for a headgasket. I'm going with arp 2000s sinister has the gasket kit with studs on sale for around $800. I got a quote from my machine shop for $650. To clean, surface, o-ring, and do valve job on the head.

Just my $0.02, make sure to use OEM Cummins headgasket and get the head check for straightness and cracks (Magnuflux).

The kit comes with mahel gaskets. Should I be looking at a oem gasket instead?

I'm sure it would work but after reading all the suggestions by the members of this forum i leaned on the OEM just to make sure. I got the kit and it came with all the o rings and new gaskets for exhaust etc.... Goodluck
