Any body running a He341 on a 1st gen? how do you like it?

I ran one for a few months, it was alright. IMO, it's about on par with an H1C with 60 mm compressor upgrade, but spools faster.

Yes it is. The 341 is like 54 mm, while the 351 is a 60 mm compressor.

But there is much less demand for the 341.

If you already have an H1C with a 60 mm compressor and the exhaust housing you like, it is a waste of time to switch to a 341... IMO.

If you haven't touched your stock turbo yet, and can get a 341 for $100 AND do not plan on making a whole lot of power, then you should go with a 341.

I still have the stock 93 turbo. I found a he341 for 450 on ebay. Not worth it?
ps =what is IMO

Noooooo, definitely not worth 450. Look on here, you can find them for 100-150.

IMO = In my opinion

fyi, you should be able to pick up an he351 for cheaper than the asking price of that 341. I paid $300 + shipping (was around $28 I think) for my 351 and I bought it off a guy on this site.

from the videos i've seen and the threads i've read over on CompD, they somehow make a wastegate control the opening and closing of the nozzle on the exhaust side...and they put a servo on top to push it back all the way closed for an exhaust brake effect

I never really said that the 341 sucks. It's a decent turbo. The 351 is just better.

haha i think the he341 sucks. ok, not really. on a common rail yeah, just because we can add some much fuel real easy and overspin the thing.

however, an he341 on a first gen truck with say only tweaking the pump would be really good for quick spool. and he341's have, by far, the loudest whistle of any smaller turbo that i have delt with... as in used to give me headaches.
