I replaced the FCA yesterday trying to fix the eratic idle at start up when cold. Well, that fioxed it, but now it is hard to start. The temp here this morning was 32, and had to crack it 3 times( crank go dead), but then when it cranked it was fine. No cranking issues before now. Any ideas? Truck has 158 on the clock, dont know what has been done before i owned it.

What iradic idle problem did you have.

Long crank times can be worn injectors

Double check the connector for the fca. Sometimes the pins get pushed back in the body when they get reconnected.

When it was cold it would act like it was going to die, then pickup . It would do that for a minute or two, then smooth out. Also when you would let it idle for long periods after warm up, it would have dead peddle then pickup. That too seems to be gone with the replacement of the FCA. Runs fine, no other symptoms.
