I have a 2006 dodge ram with a 93 ve pump 12v. I bought the truck this way and the grid heater has no wires I was wondering if I could just hook it up to a kill switch or a push button to just cut it on for a few seconds then flip it off to start the truck. could anyone help me out verifying what solenoid and wire guage to use.

sure you can it's been done alot I would put it on it's own circuit thou through a relay and a flip switch .
You just use the 2 small terminals at the bottom of the solenoids, 1 terminal on each to ground and the other terminal on each to the pushbutton. Do not hold more than 15 seconds at a time, 12 or 14 GA wire will be ok.

By any chance did you buy that truck in N. Indiana?
...hey be sure to use a 'momentary' switch so the toaster isn't inadvertantly left on
thanks everyone I think I have it figured out I bought a push button starter for my switch and got all solenoids and wires
no this truck was built in southwest va

Better off to wire it the other way around, the way the factory does it. Take live power from anywhere under the hood, fuse it and run it to the relays. Run the ground wire to your switch. Only one wire needed from the relay to the switch, short wire from switch to ground. Saves wire and if your switch or wire ever grounds out all it does it turn the heater on instead of burning fuses.
