Hello all. Finally got my first Cummins. I have been doing a lot reading, and I have a few questions. I want to get a lift pump. I hear FASS and airdog seem to be the best. Pros and cons? I also want to get gauges. I am looking at autometer and ISSPRO. Pros and cons? I hear mechanical fuel pressure gauges can be picky in the cold? Also whats the best bang for the buck for mpg. BHAF, exhaust? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Congrats!!!! enerything you asked about are good products. As for MPG's, a BHAF and exhaust is good, maybe a mileage chip will help too.

airdog has lifetime warranty and is cheaper...and for exhaust, farmboys budget kit is hard to beat:thumbsup

Congrats. Yeah my mechanical fuel pressure gauge does not like the cold...If I could do it again I would have gone electrical.

congrats, throw a set of gauges bhaf and straight pipe the stock exhaust. get atiming box you can pick up a power puck in the clasifieds on here for around 100 bucks and let the modding beginopcorn:

i have isspro guages, if i had it to do over id of spend the extra and gone witht eh DilPro(sp) lot nicer IMO and you have the choice of elc. or mech. fuel pressure gague good luck and rembember its best to do it right the first time. but i know like the rest of us your gonna start small and build up so check out the clasifieds on the diesel sites to pick up some beginer mods for dang near half price..........

Thanks for the info. How much needle bounce are you guys getting with the elec. fuel press gauge. What size airdog do you recommend. I am leaning towards the 150. How much is a draw straw and big line kit cost? Also are any of you guys running two stroke oil, and how much do you mix?

farmboys exaust. just get bd's low fuel pressure lite. $60 maybe. ez edge would be good. they are cheap on here. 150psi pump. idk about prices on the fuel line kits i'm puttin a 1-2'' line from tank to pump so i want have to worry about fuel anymore. i wish i would have done wat your doin now and done it rite the first time. congrats on the new truck.
