So today i was at an intersection and was gettin ready to turn left and i see a blue mustang go by and then turns around in the middle of the road behind me i didnt think about it at all just thought he missed his turn or somthing so i turn and i hammer on it pretty good and roll some smoke. Goin down the road and this mustang is behind me and i see he flips on his lights so i pull over. The officer comes up to my window and is a smart and says yea i mind if you smoke. Cause my tailgate says Mind if i smoke? across it. Then he says its an Indiana state law. So he says what have you got done to it to make it smoke he asks if i have the turbocharger turned up and i just kinda smiled thinkin wat a idiot. So i say no i got injectors and hes like ok. He says i know some people think its kewl for there truck to do that. I wasnt wearing my seatbelt and he points that out and i was goin over the speed limit a little bit. So i give him my license and registration and he goes back to his car. then i look in my rear view mirror and see him taking pictures of my tailgate and i just had to laugh. So he gives me a ticket for my smoke and seatbelt then gives me a warning for my speed. He comes back to my truck and says the enviroment is already bad enough and imagine if every truck did this and a bunch of bull. Then says lets see if you can take off with out smoking so i take off without smoking it and see him turn off. So now i have to pay a 155 dollar ticket. It ticks me off he has nothing better to do that to pull a truck over that smokes. When theres semis that do it all the time and other trucks. So just to let you all know not to smoke on a state highway and to watch out for those state troopers.

well that sucks, its getting to the point where blowing smoke is just as bad as speeding. But in reference to the 18 wheelers, their is a difference between blowing smoke goofing off and rolling smoke because your hauling 40k pounds of God knows what up a hill.

what exactly was the ticket written up as?

I find it hard to believe that their is actually a law for 'no smoke'

Heck, someone on here posted that california allows ANY ammount of smoke for 10 seconds! They are the smog nazi's of north america...

EDIT: Just a little side note on the semis too, youll be hard pressed to find the newer rigs rolling coal, just like our trucks they are subject to the changing emissions laws and they are getting 'cleaner' too!

Now, 20-30 years ago you might be able to put up a good debate with the smokie on smokin but not these days!

Some of the trucks we use to haul our diamond drills arent brand new by any means, but they dont have to roll the coal to move 80,000lbs...

:lol3::rof:thud: That guy was just probably upset because his muffler bearing was going out and he was low on blinker fluid, not to mention his horn belt was broken.

most big trucks burn real clean theses days and have lots of power, not waisting fuel to make soot.I see no point in blowing soot all over, pay the ticket

Yea the new semis burn extremely clean. But most of them still puff alittle smoke when the cruise re-engages. But your reallys starting to see alot of older trucks on the interstate that owner operators are driving because they are paid off. Even some schnieder (sp?) tanker trucks smoke like crazy, but thats mainly because they are worn out.
