nope not normal. little warm but not to bad. check for codes. have you had a flush at all recently? if not try that, check fluid level, check t-stat, and water pump. also check for leaks.

I have a 2005 and that sounds a little high,
but remember these factory temp gauges are just on there to tell you what the temp might be.

I understand they are not direct read gauges

if I had a concern, I would buy or borrow one of those hand held temp gauges,

with motor at normal temp, take a number of readings around the motor,
concentrate on the area where temp sensor is located.

you do not want to get this big motor too hot and ruin it, its not a cheap fix

when was the thermostat, coolant, fan belt and belt tension arm idler changed?

Turn your a/c on and look/listen for fan clutch engagement. Common problem across several years. If you arent hauling anything you may never notice, but if you go to tow without the fan clutch engaging, you'll know pretty quick. If fan clutch is the issue crawl under the truck and check wires heading to the fan clutch hub to see if they have been ripped out. There are several threads on this site with great pics on this issue. Good luck!
