Okay i got my truck ab 3-4 months ago... i bought it from a local guy off craigslist its a 2004.5 its the first diesel i have owned he said the only thing he had done to it was he added 90hp injectors and he cut the exhaust right behind the cab.... now im looking in the near future to add some mods to my truck im looking for some power i like smoke i just need some guidence on what would be the best way to do that i really dont like the idea of programmers and such because i have heard some bad things on those the only programmer i would use is smarty but give me some ideas what would be the best way to go about it...

In my opinion smoke is over rated it really isnt that good but if you want to get smoke a programmer will help with that. also if you restrict the air going in it will help it smoke.

Your stock lines are fine and your 90hp sticks are good for your stock cp3 anything over that I would upgrade your cp3 I would also upgrade the air intake first tho before you add more fuel cause your EGTs will be really high. But ya more fuel more smoke more air and fuel more power.

Yes Egts are big part of these trucks the more you can lower the better. I have also had a bad experince with kn and alot of people will agree that they are pretty much crap on these trucks. Yes you will be able to roll coal with any programmer I have the smarty and even at the lowest level I get a good cloud at take off and at 50-55mph but when adding power I would go air then fuel.
