Hi guys, I own a repo company and we are getting ready to buy our second truck. I am currently looking at a 01 24v and it looks really clean but my question is it takes like 3-4 cranks to start. My current cummins fires up in a half crank, but this one takes a second. He said that he put a FASS in and that is the reason that it delays the start. He told me that it doest supply full pressure right away.

I am a cummins nut, but dont want to buy a junk truck. The crank issue makes me worry. Thanks again guys for the help.:yourock:

It will take longer to start IF the pressure is too high, not because the fass is too slow to build pressure,I'd say the pressure is too high. does the truck have a fuel pressure gauge? if so that will help diagnoise. pull the codes by the key on key off three times trick, codes will be displayed in the ODO window (if it has any)

weak batteries or bad alternator will do that as well. these trucks need all the amps they can get!
