ok guys my dad rode with me while i pulled a trailer and now he wants more power :headbang:. kinda shooting for about the 350-400 hp range. i'm not really up to date on the 12 valves so i'm askin for some help. his truck is a 97 3500 with a 5 speed. what i was thinking was turning up the fuel pump, fuel plate, some injectors. was also gonna put in a full set of gauges. my question is how do i adjust the injection pump, what fuel plate should i use, what size and brand injectors. also what other supporting mods do i need. i'm figuring on a clutch but not sure if i need anything else. thanks guys :yourock:

also i might mention he needs it for pulling big loads.

i have a #10 plate it has awesome power but if you are pulling real heavy loads i would get gauge along with a cold air intake or bhaf

planned on a bhaf and gauges. does your #10 plate get very hot? should i go with something a little less agressive

im just now getting gauges they should be here friday but i run the hell out of it sometimes and its still in goodshape lol it has a lot of power and torque to i love it

how much power do you think you're putting out with just the modded injector pump?

get a clutch first then mod. start with the worst first. then its out of the way

if he only turns up the pump do you think he'll need a clutch or will his stocker hold

depends how far he goes, with a 0 zero plate the stock clutch will not hold at all.

my stock clutch went out the door at 104k....... added a nice valiar kevlar/ceramic clutch for the first mod. havent had a prob.

yeah im gonna need a clutch soon but it said when i bought my plate that it woul go from 215 to 330

how much power will it give me if i just push the plate forward and adjust the starwheel. basically if i just do all the free stuff. i hate to grind on his plate in case he wants to go back to stock and i found out buying a #10 plate is like 200 dollars

U can get plates off ebay for like $35
