soo i got my engine now if i remember right there were some cpl that had block problems? any thing else i kneed to know? also i red some were that some injection pumps were better for upgrades then others?

and when i got the engine and trans the guys said the engine rand awesome and the trans had a problem shifting into high gear. any idea on what could be the problem? and im wanting to convert the trans to a manual od/lockup using the hobs switches. any thoughts on that? thanks guys

thanks for the reply. but i should have stated earlier that the engine is going into a 79 plymouth trailduster

and i am not going to use the factory wire harness or computer. so i wanted a way for it to shift into overdrive and lockup the converter with out the computer

also did a little looking came across the power kit at tst products. any one use their power kit? it puts my power desire right where i want it. bout 230 hp and 600 tq. is there any adverse affects to the pump or engine other then big power numbers?

well the other guy who did the conversion said his truck weigh 7046 pounds.
i dont use the computer cause i dont like computers on my vehicle. whole point on using a mechanical injection was to keep it simple. that and i dont have the complete wire harnes just the parts that were attached to the engine. they cut the rest off.

and from what i understand an a618 (47rh) is just an a518 with a lockup tq converter. and i seen people use hobbs pressure switches for it. was just wondering if anyone actually done it on here
