ive found that in the glove box it says your gear ratio, but mine doesn't say it... also i heard that if you check the rear diff it says some numbers, but i can't find any on mine.
Any ways i just used math... in 5th gear (.73 overdrive) at 2000rpms my speedo says 67.5 about. Assuming stock tire size for that truck being 245/75R16 (30.5" diameter and 95.77" circumference) It would have to go through a 3.68 rear end. Obviously there isn't that option... so the speedo is off or the Tach is off high or low. I guess it seems closer to 3.54 than 4.10 does anyone have any other ideas? and was 3.83 an option in '94?

Any other options that i could check the gear ratio????

more research showed that only 3.54 and 4.10 were offered '94-'01' so i am determining that the speedo reads 2.5 mph slow at 2000rpms and they are 3.54 gears!!! wishful logic if nothing else

Mine doesn't say anything in the glove box (I wish people would stop telling me it does) but it has a list of options on the underside of the hood.

Other than that your reasoning sounds correct

i would bet you could call the Dodge Dealer give the VIN and he could tell you what it came factory
I might have to do that.
PS i love your ceramic puck clutch. I've been trying to destroy it because I wanted to upgrade to a double disk for a while. lots of 3rd gear burnouts... 2nd gear 3k rpm WOT launches in 4x4, I don't think it is possible to break it. Its either smoky tires or whiplash.
I think im about done trying to break it though, im pretty sure the clutch is more resilient than the tranny and the rest of the drive train.
