I got a question on gauges. I'm looking to put gauges in my Cummins, but I'm wanting to put four (4) on my A Piller. I cant seem to find one. Does anyone know of a company out there that makes a four pod gauge piller four my A piller. AND sorry if this is not the right spot to post this quetion. If it's not please tell me. Thanks to all

To the best of my knowledge no one makes a 4 gauge a pillar mount. Most people that have an auto trans run the 3 gauges on the pillar and then run one on top of the steering wheel mount.

There was somebody on here that was making them, but I haven't heard anything about it for quite awhile. Check out the non-powertrain section and do a search

Yup, they were custom made. They make them for the powerstroke, but not the CTD and duramax...

AAAAAHHHHH. Maaaann. Dang it!!! I would LOVE to get a four gauge A piller. But I guess I'll have to settle with three on the piller. I was thinking of starting off with a Transmission guage, Fuel pressure guage, and a Boost level. Any suggestions???? yes/no???

I'd do all four if you can... but if your just going to get three... I'd get get the EGT, Boost, and FP. IMO those are more important to monitor if you can only choose three.

I'd love to have all four but thats the way it goes sometimes right? Now I know First-Boost (Turbo Boost output), Secound-FP (Fuel Pressure), and then IMO....??? maybe I'm just missing it but what is IMO. I was thinking Third-Transmission Temprature over Air/Fuel Mixture.

IMO = in my opinion

Fuel pressure, boost, and exhuast gas temp gauges... then when you can, trans oil temp gauge when you can. You don't need an air/fuel ratio gauge... thats for gassers.

Ok cool, Now I know what I need to be looking at! But the Exhast gas temp guage? What exsactly is that doing for me? I mean I understand the basic principal of the reason... kind of. But what would I be looking for? And why would it be more important or over the Tansmission Temp guage since I'm running an Automatic. By the way I don't tow that often so I can see why It's not a priority at the moment. Just wondering why the exhast takes priority over the Tranny?

Because it'll let you know how hot the EGTs are in the cylinders... get too hot and you start damaging parts internally in the motor and turbo. In my experience the EGTs will get too hot long before the transmission fluid gets too hot.

OOOOHHHHHH!!!!! Ya that makes sense. Ya under normal conditions (not towing, four wheeling, ect) Heat will build in the engine and then transfer backwards towards the transmission. I see said the blind man to his deaf son!

You Have a 2nd Gen.
1st Fuel Pressure!
2nd EGT (Pryo)
3rd Trans Temp.
4th Boost.

Thanks rhagfo! Ya those are the four I'm going to get. I was thinking of Autometer, but IDK I'm still looking around.

But I tell you what, This is killing me. It really makes me wonder why they make four A-piller guages for Duramax, Powerstroke and all sorts of other vehicles but not one single company make a Four Gauge for the CTD!!! Hell they even make a "FIVE" gauge dang it!!!! THAT'S BULL!!!! What the HE!! :sb:

If I had the material and know how, I'd do it myself. I'd fiberglass, sand and paint one. But I don't even have a clean area to do it. Heck I dont even know how to do fiberglass..... But I tell you what I'm going to try. And if I do make a good one, I'm going to start selling them. :stirpot: CHEAP and piss off the companys so that they will get serious about it. Sorry that's just my 2 cents. I just cant understand why they wouldn't make one. They would make a killing.
